Builder's Blog Update - Week 17

By Murray Kneale, Jennian Homes

Builder's blog week 17

This week the gib board plasterers have completed the internal plastering of the home, and the painters are poised to attack.

Once the plasterers finish, all walls are checked with flood lights which helps pick up any imperfections in the finish that may have not been picked up normally. When this check is completed and any areas needed attention is addressed, the job is then passed to the painters to carry on with.

Care Decorating at Pukekohe have been painting for Jennian Homes for 12 years and appreciates and achieves the standard of workmanship we require.

Alan’s team will now start masking all internal windows and fittings and any nail holes etc will be filled and sanded ready for spraying.

All internal doors are now removed from the house and are sent off to a separate contractor where a 2 pot lacquer paint system is applied. The end result is a hard wearing, beautifully finished doors. The internal painting should now take around 10 days to complete.

On the outside, it looks like a bombsite. The boundaries have been trimmed where required and fence posts and retaining wall posts have been concreted in. The footings have been dug for the patio foundations and these will be poured next week.

Although it doesn’t look like it in the photos, the ASB home is really starting to come together!
