Builders Blog Update- week 16

By Murray Kneale, Jennian Homes

The home is progressing nicely, but as mentioned last week we now start to enter a bit of a slow phase on the home and top that off with a short week with Auckland anniversary weekend a shorter update this week. Think you’ll agree though, the home is looking great.

The builders have nearly completed their part, with just the bathroom to go and with the results in from the online polling, they are very close to finishing up.

Design 1 was the winning bathroom design – “minimalist yet contemporary with strong simple lines”. Design 1 is a light and airy design and has a dark vanity as its focal point. The floor tiles are what you’d call ‘Sasso Grigio’, the vanity ‘Cashmere’ in ‘Charred Oak’ woodgrain and the walls in Resene ‘Thorndon Cream’ - a bit fancy aren’t they! But am assured it’ll look superb. So now we can order all the materials in order to commence the bathroom fit out week starting 4th February.

The plasterers have now started on the gib stopping on the internal walls, so the inside of the house is now starting to resemble an actual home with walls and door ways!

On the exterior, the guys have marked out the retaining walls and fences and these will be built over the next week or so, then we can start on the landscaping.

Till next week, enjoy the sunshine as we builders certainly are!
