Builders Blog Update-week 3

By Murray Kneale

Excavation

Called into the Anselmi Subdivision last Friday afternoon for no particular reason other than to make sure the excavated building site was still there and was surprised to see the guys have started.

A day early and already they have the profiles up, "excellent".

A quick discussion, and a bit of arm waving, to ensure we are all happy the concrete floor heights were what we wanted and would suit the site and we are underway. Left happy that we are on target.

Monday, I called back to the site to see how we were progressing, only to find the only progress was the delivery of a lonely Port a Loo.

Tuesday, found the progress suffering from both wet weather and invisible subtrades.  Nothing has happened, and still just the lonely and empty Port a Loo on site.

Damn, what am I going to put in this weeks blog? Wonder if they would notice if I photographed someone else's house?!

Time
 to get on the phone.

Wed
nesday and we're moving again.  Guys on site diggers digging and trucks carting.  Now we are talking.

The
weather is going against us with it bucketing down Wednesday night, leaving freshly dug footings now full of water and site turning to mud.

Kelly
and his guys are still smiling (just) with boots and jackets hoping to have the steel reinforcing complete and the footings inspected by the Franklin District Council ready to pour the concrete on Friday afternoon.

Our aim for the short week ahead is to have the block work completed ready for floor preparation.
